9-29-20-9 God Uses Even Our Leisure Time

FROM THE PASTOR

September 29, 2019

I’m not sure how you view this summer, but from my perspective, this has been a little unique. Of course, I measure summer time based on the number of boat days on the water verses the number of available week days. From that standpoint it was a tough summer.

Spring started out wet-cold-windy and miserable. Got the boat out of storage the last week in March and used it for the first time April 23. My diary reads, “4/23/2019 attempted to take the boat out for the first time. Too windy. Has been too cold and nasty up to this point. Thankfully the next day, because I didn’t give up, was my first successful trip. Caught 18 bass.

I’ve said it before and I repeat it again, fishing is my time of release and evaluation. Its more than pursuing a hobby. I use that time to evaluate what is really important and necessary. Fishing, as much as I enjoy it, like anything else in life, unless it honors and glorifies God, has no eternal significance. But if we purposely seek to honor God through it, God will even use even our leisure time to bring glory to Himself. You see, God opens up opportunities in all aspects of life if we are intentional in our desires and purposeful in our endeavors.

Matthew 6:33 (NASB)
33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Life may seem abnormal at times… but remember, God is always at work.

Thank you for your faithfulness. Pastor Larry
